LIBRARY LENDING POLICIES
The Library may be used by all members of the Yale University Community.
Persons outside the Yale University community, Yale University alumni may be permitted
to use the Library by permission of the Director of the Cowles Foundation
Borrowing privileges are extended to the following:
- Cowles research staff and members of the Economics Department: Full time, Part time,
Emeriti, Long- and Short-term visitors
- Students: Graduate and IDE students, Post doctoral fellows, Research assistants, and
Teaching assistants
BOOKS
Research Staff and Visiting Faculty: 8 weeks, with unlimited renewals
Students: 2 weeks, with up to 3 renewals
REFERENCE MATERIAL (blue dot on spine)
These items may not be borrowed except by Cowles research staff and members of the
Economics Department. They may only be used in the Library itself or in the Cowles Faculty
Lounge adjacent to the Library.
LIMITED CIRCUATION BOOKS (green dot on spine)
These items may be borrowed for 3 days only, with no renewal. These include all of the Handbook
of ... series and Works of Irving Fisher (14 vols.)
JOURNALS
Persons with Library lending privileges may sign out jouranals for a 2-hour period for
photocopying.
COURSE RESERVE
These items may be signed out for 24 hours or for shorter periods, as specified by the
faculty member.
RECALLS
Items can be recalled after 2 weeks.
Items can be recalled at any time for Cowles research staff and/or Economics faculty
